Are we there yet?

Are we there yet? That's what I used to hear all the time from my daughter, Michaela. She was repeating what we constantly heard from one of the cartoon shows and it worked. My wife and I would always respond with a reasonable answer. It took a while, but I watched my wife come up with an answer that got a response that quieted down the eager little one, who simply wanted to know now, what to expect.

And now, to the topic, todays piece of art. Is it ready yet? How long until it is done? What will you use to complete the piece? Which color do you intend to use, this time? What style do you intend to work in? All questions that are worthy or consideration. And, more important, information you should gather as you begin the process, as you proceed to create, to paint, to start a new piece of art. You want to plan. Right? Well, it depends on the reason you are creating art.

For me, I like the experience as much as the display, the finish, the sale. You could ask: Well, what about the business? This is something that is reasonable, if you intend to make a business out of creating the art.

This morning, I began to think about the business again. The business of art is not something that is always formost in my mind. More than likely, this is simply the state of an artists mind. I love the experience, the experiment, the pigment, the shape and the form.

The frame is my glich. I will leave it at that.

What was happening when you were born?

We will observe Martin Luther King, Jr today.

Five years ago I was looking up the events taking place in the world during my time of birth and was fascinated. For instance, many awards were being giving to creative works recognizing the significance of human rights. These awards were in all categories: music, writing, staged productions and song.

What an opportunity to show your support for all of the human race.
Being a teen in the 60's and 70's this outlook was taken to the max.

Now, in the 2,000's what we communicate travels 20 times faster. Can you imagine the world without the internet? It isn't easy.

What was going on in the world when you were born?

Whose getting married?

Today, up and coming realist artist, Camille Engle will watch as the bride, her daughter Audrey goes down the isle and says I do. This event has been years in preparation and knowing Camille, it will be quite a spectacular event.

Why don't you look at Camille's works from the link above, and tell me what you think of it. She's good.

Thanks, Michael

Styling with a passion

Even after 21 years of styling, the passion is still there, each time I meet with a client. Some of the excitement comes from the history that continues to grow, each day.

How many jobs are like reaching dreams, every day? Where else can you dress the way you want, enjoy wearing some great jeans, or a tuxedo?

This is the only career I know where you can have pleasure and pay at the same time.

Join me as the experiences are shaped. Ask me questions if you would like to. Let's try to find your dreams too.

Thanks, Michael
